Annual Elevator Testing

Beginning Wednesday, February 6, through Friday, February 8, the Association’s elevator vendor, ThyssenKrupp, will be onsite to conduct repairs and testing required by the State Elevator Inspector.

On Wednesday, February 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., ThyssenKrupp will conduct the elevator recall test which will place both elevators out of service for approximately 20 minutes. 

On Thursday, February 7, and Friday, February 8, ThyssenKrupp will complete required adjustments and calibration assigned to both elevators by the State inspector. During this time, each elevator will be tested separately for a period of approximately four (4) hours.

Please plan accordingly as there will be delays in elevator use and response times while the tests are being conducted on the dates referenced above. We appreciate your patience and understanding while these tests and repairs are being completed.

Strong Weather Notice

The upcoming weather is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds! In efforts to prevent as much damage as possible, below are a few tips to prepare for the weather to come:

¨ Please use caution when entering the lobby on foot as there are sandbags in place and the lobby floor may also be wet.

¨ When entering or exiting the garage, please avoid hitting the sandbags so they do not become damaged.

¨ Remove all items from your balcony and decks that could potentially blow off with the strong winds.

¨ If you have a lower level deck, please make sure that the drains are clear of debris.

¨ Make sure all windows and balcony doors are shut and secure.

¨ Check all window frames and balcony doors for water intrusion. If you have water intrusion present, please photograph the issue and email Management.

Surveillance System Update

The Association’s security vendor has completed the new updates to Sapphire’s surveillance system! Please note that there is a new camera on the northwest end of the second floor hallway and another at the emergency exit stairwell located on the south end of the pool deck. These new updates provide better resolution and provide more memory!

Fire System Reminders

As a courtesy, Management would like to remind all residents who wish to paint the interior of their units that under no circumstances should you or your contractors paint any part of the fire sprinkler system, which includes the sprinkler head itself. Painting or alterations of any sort to the fire sprinkler system can prevent the system from activating in the event of an emergency. Your neighbors and the Association thank you for your cooperation with this matter!

Garage Reminder—Car Idling        

In the event that you need to idle your vehicle, Management requests that you remove your vehicle from the garage into an open air space. Removing your vehicle to an open air space helps prevent excessive toxic fumes from accumulating and lingering in the parking garage.

Amtrak & Coaster Reminders

NCTD has requested that we remind all residents to avoid allowing their pets from relieving themselves on the train tracks, pedestrian crossings, train platforms and surrounding areas as this poses a safety hazard to your pets, a health hazard to the technicians, and at times prevents the technicians from properly assessing the trains. Your community and NCTD thank you for your assistance with this matter!

Recycling

As a courtesy to your neighbors and the housekeeping staff, it is important to remember to break down all large recyclable materials and it’s preferred that all large items be thrown away in the trash room located on P-1. Also, when disposing of any recycling, please be sure to clean out food debris left inside. Lastly, please make sure that you bag all glass prior to disposal, as glass can be a safety hazard for others. These steps are simple and are crucial in helping the staff, as well as preventing problems with the trash chute. Please see Management for a copy of the recycling charts which lists items that can and cannot be recycled. Contact the Management Office during business hours with any questions you may have. *BOARD MEETING NOTICE—The next Board meeting has been scheduled for Monday, February 25, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. in the second floor Clubroom. All owners are encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there!

*SAPPHIRE HAPPY HOUR—The next Happy Hour event for Sapphire residents will be held on Thursday, February 7, from 5:00—7:00 p.m. This casual event gives the membership an opportunity to visit with neighbors. It will be held in the Clubroom/pool area on the second floor. Please B.Y.O.B. and feel free to bring an appetizer or snack to share. Please note that plastic cups are required as no glass is allowed in the pool area. Thank you and we hope to see you there!
